With the 2010 Winter Olympics being held in Canada this year many locals are deciding to leave the area and come to the Hawaiian Islands to get away from all the busyness the Olympics bring to an area.

The Big Island of Hawaii has benefited from this the most.  Many of the vacation rentals at Waikoloa Beach Resort are occupied and the occupancy of the Hilton Waikoloa and Marriott at Waikoloa Beach Resort are up from 2009.  Kolea at Waikoloa Beach Resort, the premier vacation rental destination, is fully occupied.
